Chatti Pathiri....

This is one of my favourite malabar snack . Usually we prepare this dish during ifthar. As it is cooked by placing meat fillings in layers of pancakes/Chappathis , its very tasty to eat.Now lets see how this dish is prepared.

Ingredients


For Meat Filling

1. Minced meat- 1 bowl
2. Onion - 3
3.Green Chilli- 5
4. Ginger garlic Paste - 1 tspn
5.turmeric Powder - 1/2 tspn
6. Garam Masala - 1 tspn
7. Pepper Powder - 1/2 tspn
8.Salt - as required
9. Corriander leaves - as required
10. Coconut Oil - 3 tbspn

Method 

1.Heat Oil in a pan and add chopped onion , green chilli and ginger garlic paste . Saute Well until the colour changes golden yellow .

2. Now add the powders from 5-8  and mix well . Add minced meat ( boil the meat by adding salt ,turmeric powder and little chilli powder .After that grind little) . cook it well and add corriander leaves  and Keep Aside.

Now we can make the chappathis for layering .

For pancakes

1.Maida - 2 cups
2.Salt - as required
3.Water as required
4. Egg -1

Method

1. Add maida into the beaten egg placed in a mixing bowl and add enough water to make a batter.

2. Heat a non stick pan and add little batter into it to make thin dosa/ pancakes.just cook on one side . No need to flip  and transfer them to a plate . Make around 5 pancakes out of this batter.

Steps for Layering

Ingredients

1. Eggs -2
2. Salt - as required

Method

1. Heat 11/2 tspn of ghee in a cooker. Dip a pancake into the beaten egg mixture and place it inside the cooker . Place little meat fillings above it  and again place a pancake dipped in egg mixture. Pour little egg mixture above each pancake . Repeat the steps for all the cooked pancakes. pour the remaining egg mixture above the layers and close the lid and cook it for 8- 10 minutes.
